4 days in Milan 🇮🇹

Milan is a must-visit city in Italy, especially if you are a fashion lover. ‘Fashion capital city of the world’ is the name often used to describe this vibrant city. Offering exclusive deals at high-end fashion stores such as Gucci, Prada, Versace and Dolce & Gabana.

Milan also is filled with lots of history and culture, be sure to visit one of the iconic landmarks such as the Duomo di Milano – which has the most breathtaking architecture, take a ride on the old yellow trams around the city or explore Milano centrale station.

Day 1

• Arrive evening – departed in the afternoon, can travel earlier to get a semi full day

• Wine and Dine in Milan – lots of restaurants recommend a wine that goes with your meal and I would definitely say go for the recommendation

Day 2

• Day trip to lake como – visit one of the many villages of lake como: Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, Como, Lenno, Lecco…the list goes on

• Lunch at the popular Barchetta restaurant of Bellagio – please note that they close between 2:30PM and 7PM

• Dinner in Milan – I stayed in the small town of Lainate and there was an amazing restaurant there called ‘La Bottega’ – 100% recommend!

Day 3

• SPA day at QC Termemilano – so many different rooms to experience, a 5 hour pass includes access to all spa facilities, food and alcohol. Cost: €60

• Dinner in Milan – lots of restaurants near the spa

Day 4

• Explore the canals – River Navigli , Lunch at Alzaia 26. Book via Getyourguide.com

• Walk from Milan centrale station to Duomo centre – a very nice walk and you are able to see a lot of Milan

• Milan cathedral – lift up to the terrace rooftops, beautiful views from the top. Book here.

Travelling to Milan

Accommodation: find cheap hotels in booking.com – you will hardly be here anyways, out exploring >>>>

Flights: book through Skyscanner.com

Holidays: I actually booked a whole package through Groupon, a first for me and it was actually better deal than expected. Hotel with breakfast included and flights for £230 pp – I’m sure it would work out cheaper if booking separately

Activities: These can be booked on Getyourguide.com and you can find lots of great deals and unique experiences, including canal rides or a day trip to lake como

Transport: buy a 3 day pass that gives you access to all metros/buses/trams in Milan

• Coach from airport to centre – book on Trainline

• Metro – easy to navigate, allows travel to all areas in Milan, purchase on the app: ATM Milano official app or at any metro station

• Train – purchase ticket on Trainline or ticket desk, can travel outside of Milan to surrounding areas (eg. Lake Como)

• Bus – can use your 3 day pass on any bus

• Uber – super expensive, only used when the bus wasn’t running/ on Sunday

Pro Tip: always remember to validate your ticket before boarding to avoid a hefty fine.
