There are so many amazing places that I have visited in my lifetime. With so much accessibility these days it can be hard to choose the next best destination. So I’ve put together a list of 5 countries you should definitely visit around the world.

1. Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is truly an amazing country! The people, the culture, the food! They have it all and it’s very affordable once you get there. You will be surprised by the breathtaking views and beautiful beaches. There’s also a lot of history about Sri Lanka, which you can learn by visiting the many temples and museums.

Things to do:

◦ Royal botanical gardens

◦ Hikkaduwa

◦ Climb Ella rock

◦ Udawalawe National park/ safari

◦ Weligam bay surfing

◦ Unawatuna beach

◦ Galle

◦ Colombia

◦ Take a ride on the Kandy-Ella train for scenic views

2. Canada – Toronto

The Canadians are so friendly you will never want to leave! There’s so much to do in Canada, from theme parks, to city life, to golfing and going to a cottage weekend away! I would definitely recommend visiting Niagra falls, it is unreal.

Things to do:

◦ Visit niagra falls

◦ CN tower, bloor street

3. Thailand

One of my favourite countries to date, I have always said I would want to visit again. This is the perfect destination for backpackers or travelling with friends. There’s so many little islands to visit, great party life or if you want relaxation you can find that too.

Islands to visit:

◦ Bangkok

◦ Phi phi – view point, Maya bay

◦ Koh Tao – snorkel, scuba dive, bar crawl

◦ Koh Phangan – half moon/full moon parties, Elephant sanctuaries

◦ Phuket

4. Bermuda

Another favourite on the list is Bermuda, a small little island but full of great vibes. Although Bermuda has a lot to offer, you will need to bring a lot of money (everything is very expensive). Luckily for me I have family who live there, so I was able to fully make use of that. With that said, there’s so many beautiful beaches, horseshoe bay is my personal favourite!

Places to visit:

◦ Explore Hamilton – front street

◦ Gibbs hill lighthouse

◦ The reefs hotel/La Serena spa

◦ At Regis hotel – amazing bottomless brunch

◦ Church bay beach

◦ Horseshoe bay beach

◦ Royal naval dockyards – frog and onion pub

◦ Food: you need to try fish cake on toasted raisin bread with egg

◦ Visiting in summer – Cup match!

5. Turkey – Istanbul

Istanbul… wow what can I say, this city really surprised me. I solo-traveled here and there was so much to offer. The city is filled with a lot of culture/history, beautiful mosques, good food and lots and lots of Turkish tea. I enjoyed myself so much, I will definitely be visiting again!

Places to visit:

◦ Graand bazaar

◦ Hagia Sophia

◦ Seven hills restaurant

◦ European/Asian side

◦ Basilica cistern

◦ Galata tower

◦ Taksim square – take metro

◦ Nusr-Et steakhouse

◦ Princes’ Islands

Thank you for taking the time to read! Until next time.
