Okatse canyon
Okatse canyon is located in the village of Gordi. It’s quite far away from Tbilisi, I traveled by train and then got a taxi to drive the rest of the way. Luckily there was a taxi when getting off the train otherwise we would’ve ended up stranded. The good thing about Georgia is if you offer to pay cash to the taxi drivers they will take you anywhere. So we decided to just use the same driver the whole day as there’s no bolt or Yandex in the village areas. The other option is to rent a car and brave driving the Georgian roads.
When arriving at Okatse canyon you are able to pay for a 4×4 ride around the forest and then to the top of the canyon, where you can walk across the bridge and then take pictures at the view point. Definitely recommend this!

Visit a winery in Telavi
I have visited a few wineries in Georgia and Telavi is the place to be. My most recent visit, I went to Schuchmann wines chateau, Villas & Spa. The location and staff were top notch and I really enjoyed my stay here.
Things to do:
▪️walk around the vineyards
▪️chill by the pool (indoors and outdoors)
▪️enjoy the outdoor hot tubs
▪️wine tour & wine tasting
▪️Spa day – wine bath and relaxing massage included
Wine tasting tour
There are many wine tours available in Georgia and lots of companies you can use that will pick you up and take you on the tour. I visited KTW (Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking) located in Patardzeuli, when there you get a tour of the factory and they take you round for lots of wine tasting.
The company I traveled with also included a trip to Bodbe Monastery, sighnaghi (the city of love), lunch with a view and ended with the Great Wall of Georgia.

Visit Rabati Castle
Rabati Fortress, Akhaltsikhe – this old stone fortress is one of the main sites of the Akhaltsikhe town. It is a historical monument with a lot of culture.
Within the fortress walls there’s a church, mosque, synagogue, small park, History Museum, various shops, hotels and even civil registry office. The scenery is amazing and it’s so peaceful inside.
▪️Entrance fee: 19gel
▪️Opening times: 9am-10pm
Tbilisi Botanical gardens
Located right in the centre of the old town, you will enjoy a lovely walk through the gardens. A must visit! Beautiful flowers to be seen as well as an amazing waterfall and a bridge to take amazing photos.
If you’re feeling brave there’s even a zip wire in the gardens where you can go from one side to the next. There’s a path that leads rights to the top where you’ll end up at the Mother of Georgia monument.
Visit the chronicles of Georgia
The Georgia Chronicle project began in 1985 and is still unfinished after almost 40 years. Sitting at the top of a long staircase in Tbilisi, it’s often referred to as “The Georgian Stonehenge” for its striking beauty.
The best way to travel to the chronicles is by taxi or car. It’s also free to enter and open 24/7! You can enjoy the morning sunrise or an evening sunset, the best of both.
Weekend away – Kvareli Lake
Kvareli lake resort is a full SPA and wellness centre, located in a unique location overlooking the Alazany Valley.
My stay here was amazing, with the resort offering lots of fun activities including, bike rides, pool use, games room, water activities and spa facilities. Once you arrive you will enjoy, however the journey there was a bit difficult as we got lost and added 20mins to the journey. Also getting back you will have to use the hotel’s taxi facilities as it’s literally in the middle of nowhere. So it might be better to hire a car and drive down there instead.
Overall I had a great stay and the weather was lovely, the lake is so beautiful and I would definitely recommend staying here.
Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi
This church, commonly known as Sameba, is situated on Ellia Hill and is visible from all over central Tbilisi. It holds the title of the third tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral globally, and its beauty is truly remarkable.
I would recommend going during summer time or in the evening when it is beautifully lit up. It’s free to visit and a 100% must see place when visiting Tbilisi.
Visit Bojormi
Borjomi, a Georgian town, is well-known for its mineral springs situated within Borjomi Central Park. Within the park, visitors can find the Golden Tulip, a unique historic building converted into a hotel that accommodates guests from various regions.
