Tbilisi is a stunning destination and incredibly picturesque. As the capital of Georgia (known as Sakartvelo in Georgian), it’s famous for its abundance of churches located throughout the city.

It’s a mixture of old and new, with every street you walk down matching the whole vibe of the city.

There are many narrow street, unique balconies, and Cobble streets which make the perfect photo op.

Stunning lakes and Rivers located all around the city, there are also several hills/view points – the perfect location for an instagram photo.

1. Orbeliani baths

Right in the centre of old town, this is the perfect location for an instagram photo. The building is so beautiful, with unique mosaic designs. If you’re up for it, take a look inside and book yourself a sulphur bath visit! I highly recommend, the inside is even more beautiful and the perfect opportunity for a picture.

2. Lisi lake

Lisi lake is a popular destination and makes the perfect backdrop for a photo. The sunset pictures make the journey worth while. There’s lots of food stalls around if it gets a little nippy. And a path that allows you to walk around the whole lake, taking in the beautiful views.

3. The Chronicles of Georgia

If you are planning a trip to Tbilisi, you must visit the chronicles of Georgia. This famous monument was created in 1985 by Zurab Tsereteli. It overlooks Tbilisi sea, giving incredible views and the perfect background.

4. Mtshketa – Jvari Church

Mtshketa city is just on the outskirts of Tbilisi and well known for the Mtkvari river and Aragvi rivers meeting in the middle. It’s one of the most ancient cities in Georgia and is full of beautiful mountains – making the cutest most instagrammable background!

5. Street art

The Tbilisi streets are full of flourishing street art! Nearly every street in the city, you will spot beautiful graffiti and street art can be found. So if you want to get lost in the Tbilisi streets, look out for the perfect art for the perfect photo opportunity.

6. Georgian streets

Another must have photo op is of the gorgeous Georgian streets. Old town has many streets that have beautiful cobble and unique balconies. I’ve spent plenty of afternoons walking down some random streets, admiring the beauty. Some personal favourites include Shardeni, Shota rustaveli avenue, anywhere in saburtalo and Vake area.

7. Holy trinity cathedral of Tbilisi

This church, commonly known as Sameba is located on Ellia Hill and visible from every corner of central Tbilisi. It’s the third tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the world and it is truly stunning. I would recommend going during summer time or in the evening when it is beautifully lit up.

8. Botanical gardens

If you enjoy walking this is the place to be. There’s a beautiful trail with lots of natural greenery and colourful scenes. There’s a beautiful waterfall for pretty photos and also a bridge to cross at the top. If you continue walking right up to the top you can also see the Mother of Georgia statue.
